Listed below are the current social gathering limits for all types of non-residential events. Notification is required ONLY if an event will exceed the current New York State social gathering limits of 100 people indoors or 500 people outdoors*. Click here or scroll down for the required forms which must be completed and submitted a minimum of 5 days prior to the event.

*PLEASE NOTE: Limits will increase to 250 indoors on May 19.

In-Person Catered Events Weddings, private parties, conferences, etc. by invitation; not open to the general public.

Indoors Up to 100 people without testing; 101-150 people with testing or proof of vaccination. No more than 75% of capacity.
Starting May 19: Up to 250 without testing, >250 with testing or proof of vaccination; capacity limited by required social distance of 6 feet.
Outdoors Up to 500 without testing, >500 with testing or proof of vaccination; capacity limited by required social distance of 6 feet.

 

Events, Arts and Entertainment Venues Plays, musicals, concerts, speeches, etc.

Medium 101-150 people, up to 33% capacity; testing or proof of vaccination required for all.

Plan Submission Forms
Notification is required ONLY if an event will exceed the current social gathering limits. The appropriate form must be completed and submitted a minimum of 5 days prior to the event:

  • Large Event Notification: Plan Submission Form
    These are public gatherings such as plays, concerts, graduations, speeches, etc.
  • In-Person Catered Event Notification: Plan Submission Form
    These are non-residential events (gatherings outside of a household) that involve the preparation and service of food and beverages. Examples include wedding receptions, meetings, conferences, and other private venue events by invitation, not open to the general public.
