On June 15, 2021, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that COVID-19 restrictions are lifted immediately as 70 percent of New Yorkers aged 18 or older have received the first dose of their COVID-19 vaccination series.
Consistent with the State’s implementation of the recent CDC guidance, masks are still required for unvaccinated individuals.
Further, the State’s health guidelines continue to be in effect for large-scale indoor event venues (greater than 5,000 person capacity), pre-K to grade 12 schools, public transit, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and health care settings per CDC guidelines.
For indoor events with a capacity greater than 5,000 people, proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test must be collected. The venue may operate at 100% capacity with no social distancing, with masks required for those who are unvaccinated.
Plan Submission Forms
Notification is required ONLY for large indoor events that exceed 5,000 attendees. The Large Events Form must be completed and submitted a minimum of 5 days prior to the event.
